Dear CYM-ers,
The Worship & Evangelism committee and Mohan Naidu (Nina & Michael's dad) from our church is organising a 'Bread of Life' project this Fri, 22 Dec.
Basically, the project aims to distribute 300 loaves of Gardenia Fruit & Nut bread to needy residents of the flats around the community. This is to share with them the message of joy and love of the Christmas season and to let them know that there is a church in the community.
They are looking for people who are free and willing to help to distribute the bread. All it involves is to go knocking on people's door, telling them who we are & giving them the loaf of bread. The details are:
Date: This Friday, 22 Dec 06
Time: 10.00am
Assembly point: Church
The whole duration should take only about 2 hours, of course, it'll depend on how many people turn up that day.
So, I'll like to ask that you seriously consider giving your time & energy for this good cause. Please either reply to me (sms to 96656195, incl ur name unless u know i already hv ur no.) or your CGLs by tomorrow (20 Dec 06) if you are able to help out this initiative. Thanks!
I'm very sorry for the tight response time. I'll also like to let you know that I won't be around myself cos my brother is getting married that same day (& time!).
Thanks for your understanding.

hey guys (= just wanna share with you a story i heard a few days ago. its about Evangelism.
a fireman was charged in court for neglect of duty. one day he was in the fire-engine while the building, next to him, was burning. the cries of a family of five were drowned out by the music from the CD player in the engine which the fireman had turned on. as he listen to his new stereo, a young mother, carrying her few-months-old child jumped out of the window. her husband and two older children jumped out too, but the flames had already consumed them. in court, the fireman stated that he had gotten the CD player as a gift for the fire-chief. the fire-chief said that this made him feel betrayed.
what do you think is the proper punishment for this crime?
if we do not spread the gospel, we become like the fireman, neglecting our duty as Christians and letting our loved ones and others around us die. the fire-chief is like God. if we give excuses like 'oh i was doing something else for God' , its like betrayal because we either dont mean it, or we simply think whatever the "thing" is, is much more important than the fact that God has called us to spread His love with all those that still dont know Him.
so how can we, as people who are like the fireman himself, to give a punishment ?
i guess the only way to help ourselves, is to help others, right?
